Used sparingly, these are great for building DESIRE, or re-enforcing reasons for replying. (Example – Feature Panel Heading): ‘5 good reasons why you should own this Guide...’ (then list 5 good reasons for buying, in 1... 2... 3... (etc) order). Altarnatively, you could include a ‘Questions’ theme, like: ‘Where else could you find answers to these questions..?’ ‘Am I providing the right information about (XXX) to my customers..? ‘Which type of software is the best for creating (XXX) ..?’ What should I do if a customer asks for (XXX)..? ‘Where can I find the best (XXX) ..? At the end of the short list of relevant questions, the copy could say ‘All the answers to these, and other vital questions, can be found in (XXX ) – your product!
3. ‘PRE-ORDER’ PANELS
These add an extra ‘push’ to help get potential customers to take that last step: to order, or sign up for further details, and
present ‘Reasons WHY’ they should reply – or ‘Because’ copy... Effective ‘Pre-Order’ copy could read: Order before (Date)
and SAVE £99! (Copy should then briefly re-state the offer, and give simple instructions on HOW to Order/Enquire). OR –
‘Don’t miss this opportunity to receive a FREE appraisal..!’ (Copy also re-states your offer, and urges the reader to reply
NOW!) OR – Reserve this latest edition today – and be one of the first to benefit..! See details below...’
Your last Call To Action copy should then clearly state the Telephone number/E-Mail or Web address to respond to – or state that they can otherwise fill in an offline/online REPLY FORM..! If you offer a product or service guarantee, your Pre-Order Panel – and your Call To Action copy should be placed near to your (guarantee) –
4. GUARANTEE PANEL
Guarantees can be extremely powerful in getting over any hesitation in the mind of the customer, about ordering or
enquiring. Assuring customers that there’s NO RISK in ordering – or no commitment when enquiring, will help ‘clinch’ the
sale. Guarantees can be for 30 days (example – goods): ‘if not completely satisfied with (XXX), simply return it in good
order within 30 days, and we’ll provide a full refund without question...’
OR – for services: ‘If, for any reason, you’re not satisfied with our service, we will do our utmost to rectify any problems. If
this cannot be done to your satisfaction, we will otherwise provide a full refund for any services not provided...’
Overall, if you can offer a Guarantee, it will certainly help you to get more sales and enquiries, and make your customers ‘feel comfortable’ about your offer!
Lastly, if you use all of the ‘A.I.D.A’ elements and ‘Look Here’ Tools described in this article, you’ll be giving your promotion the BEST chance of success. Don’t forget, all of the elements rely mainly on promoting BENEFITS to the customer. Combine these into an effective ‘A.I.D.A’ structure that leads the reader to your ‘Call To Action’, and use all the panel tools you can to help ‘close the sale’ – and your copy should continually pull in good results.
